Giorgio Andreotta Calò
Scultura lingua morta
Scultura lingua morta
15th Nov - 4th march 2025
In March 1944, Arturo Martini wrote "La scultura lingua morta" ("Sculpture, a Dead Language"), an essay questioning sculpture's ability to remain alive and universal. Eighty years later, inspired by Martini's reflections, Giorgio Andreotta Calò, a renowned Venetian artist, presents a journey into the "dead language" through his works at Ca’ Pesaro. These pieces span over twenty years of his career.
The relationship between contemporary sculpture and Venice, reflected in Calò's work, the Ca’ Pesaro collections, and the Palazzo's architecture, is enriched by documents from the Gallery's Historical Archive. Photographic campaigns, display changes, and reflections on the Longhenian facade intertwine with Calò's vision through the dialogic perspective of the Ipercubo collective.

Friday, June 21, 2024 | from 5:30 PM MAC Studi d’artista, Piazza De Gasperi 13, Padua
Dare lucciole per lanterne is the final residency project conceived by the artists of MAC for the evening of June 21.
On the summer solstice, in the liminal time between light and darkness, amid the damp grass where fireflies gather to court, arise the ambiguities, surprises, and playful analogies that the works on display will evoke.

THE SHAPE OF WATER is an experimental, multidisciplinary training project that aims at welcoming diverse students from all over the world who wish to experience Venice together in order to draw inspiration from it and build an original narrative vision of the lagoon city.
The Summer School will be curated by Giorgio Andreotta Calò (Venice, 1979), an artist who combines great international experience with a profound knowledge of the city.
Ipercubo took part with a editorial workshop with the students.
